Proverbs 29:1 He who is often reproved, and hardens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
There are those who serve the Lord, and later turn away from Him. They seem to feel that they can come back to Him any time they want to. God is not only a God of love but He is also a God of wrath.
Sometimes people are looking for a license or excuse to sin, because they have no real desire to turn from evil. They still want God’s protection but will find that eventually the Holy Spirit will no longer speak to them, see Genesis 6:3; Proverbs 1:28; Jeremiah 7:16; 11:11, 14.
It is very important for you to allow the Holy Spirit to direct you daily. Failure to listen to His direction will cause you to have a hardened heart or spirit. You may get to the place where the Holy Spirit will no longer speak to you. Stay close to the Lord so you will never drift away.
